Lines | Lake Elizabeth, Fremont, CA | 04-16-11

The Digital Photography School has weekly challenges that focuses on a particular theme.  I like the challenges because it gives me different ideas to try and work on.  This week's challenge is lines.  I was at Fremont's Central Park where Lake Elizabeth is, and many people like to visit this place on a nice day.

Pet Photography | Charlie | 03-29-11

Two weeks ago I managed to take a few new images of my sister's dog Charlie.  A lot of times when I see him he'll bring his ball on a rope to me so that I can play with him.  Other times he'll get so tired that he'll want to take a nap.

Cherry Blossoms | Sunnyvale, CA | 03-29-11

I love cherry blossoms and have been wanting to take some different shots of them every year.  This year, I was disappointed to find the ones by where I live and work die or close up so early.  Luckily, I was in the area that I grew up in a few days ago and noticed that there were a bunch of cherry blossom trees around my mom's place.

One of the things that have been sticking in my mind is the concept of taking multiple shots of one thing.  You can end up with different images by zooming in to have a tighter frame of the subject, zooming out to include more of the background, placing the subject off centered, shooting from an upwards angle, etc.  These are the three I like the most.

SF MOMA | San Francisco | December 31, 2010

We spent part of New Year's Eve at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.  One of the things I've been wanting to try more of is to use the surrounding area to frame the subject of a picture.

Chung Li's Portrait Photography Workshop | Posing - Lighting - Editing

In early October of last year I took a portrait photography workshop offered by Chung Li.  His workshop focused on the posing, lighting, and editing aspects of portrait photography.  It was a very fun and worthwhile learning experience while having the opportunity to be around people who shared the same passion for photography.  I left the workshop with a renewed inspiration to shoot more with my camera this year.
